Julia Freund Photography

Photography has always been a passion of mine. When I was younger, my favorite thing to do was taking pictures. Ever since then, I have been hooked on photography, not only digital photography and Photoshop, but also film.

I learned how to use a film camera, process film, and develop film at summer camp. It was a six-week sleep away camp in the Berkshires. What got me interested in black and white photography was the mystery of not knowing what your photo was going to look like until the whole process is over.

People ask me if I have a preference for digital or film, and my answer is always the same: no. Film and digital are completly different; film is more complicated and unexpected since you have to develop your film, print it, etc. Digital is more technical because of the use Photoshop and digital cameras.

I am currently a student at Millbrook School. I hope you enjoy my photography!
